January 25th marks the opening of the 45th Annual Kiwanis Western Art Show in San Antonio. This will be my first year to participate in this prestigious event. The exhibition and sale will be in the Pioneer Memorial Museum at 3805 Broadway, next to the Witte Museum. The exhibit will be open Jan. 25-27 and Feb. 1-3. Over 100 artists will be showcasing their original work.

Of the eight paintings in my exhibit, "Secret Cibolo" is a favorite. I created it from a sketch I did sitting on the banks of the Cibolo in Boerne's Cibolo Wilderness Preserve. It's a wonderfully peaceful place with the waters gently swirling around the cypress knees. I was alone there that day and felt like I had this secret hideaway all to myself.
