Finally, the time arrived for everyone to see "Art Rhythms", the painting for the Cibolo Arts Council Fall Festival of Arts. And this weekend the festival is here. I've received lots of wonderful comments about the painting/poster. People love finding all the 'hidden' musical and art symbols and seem to find new ones with each viewing. It was a challenge but great fun to create this piece.
Currently my website is directed to my page at the Carriage House Gallery of Artists website. We participate in Boerne's Second Saturday Art Tour from 4pm to 8pm each month. The gallery is open Wed.-Sat. 10-5pm and noon til 5pm on Sundays.
Because I love to sketch on location: "a travel journal bulging with mementos, notes, and sketches is one of my most treasured possessions. I take inspiration and information collected from travels back to my studio to create expressive, color-filled watercolors. Whether the subject is flowers, gardens, historical structures, village scenes, vistas or unique market settings, this artist enjoys the challenge of working out a composition and the enjoyment of putting paint on paper.
"Painting en plein air is wonderful, frustrating, transforming, challenging, and enriching. Soaking up the sights, sounds, and smells, feeling the heat of the sun or the blast of a cold wind, holding a paintbrush in one hand while grabbing a bite of local food with the other, all combine to help me capture what I feel about the subject. Bugs in my paint? They just add texture!" Email me at lindachalberg@gmail.com
